Our God Given Right to Resist and Suppress Tyranny
Genesis 1:26 "And God went on to say, 'Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.' "
Discussion: Where the Bible cites man's God given authority to exert power over his flesh is, “Subjection over the fish of the sea, and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that moves upon the earth,” is (according to my understanding) where, God establishes man's natural right to resist tyranny and suppress it. This is a logical conclusion for me to reach because the scripture doesn't authorize men to bring each other into subjection. Consequently, when that occurs it generates conflict because God instilled the ability in us to realize when the lawful way for another person to exert power over their flesh is being violated to threaten us with harm, or else, is being violated by them to cause us actual harm. In my opinion, this scripture is a metaphor that explains the origin of all human conflict existing between individuals, races of people, and nations that calls for a course of action to be taken that puts an end to the violator's unlawful use of their power. It's a good possibility the founding fathers of our nation relied on it to create the militia right to resist and suppress tyranny. Think about it.
